To reconsider

The last hundred years of human history have been some of the most innovative. It's fascinating to think how many ideas that seemed impossible in 1900 are part of everyday life in 2026.

It's true that the world never stops moving—literally—and neither do our lives. We quickly move from one thing to another: work, social life, routines, projects. And all of that can be wonderful. But sometimes, stopping to observe the place we inhabit can be as fascinating as watching another episode of our favorite show on a Friday afternoon.

If you were to close your eyes for a few moments and try to mentally reconstruct your surroundings, it would probably be difficult to even remember half of what's around you.

Are you missing something?

Think about it not only in relation to today, but also to the last few days, months, and years.

I ask myself that question too.

On busy days, I like to take a few minutes to feel the present. Sometimes I do it with my sight, by looking at the sky; with my hearing, by listening to laughter in the distance; with my hands, by touching a surface; or simply by closing my eyes and breathing deeply.

It reminds me that life is happening and that I am fortunate to accompany it for a brief moment.
